Daniel La Toure & KP Tha Pro - BOUNDARIES ALBUM REVIEW

Contemporary R&B singer Daniel La Toure and dynamic producer KP Tha Pro combined forces on the album, BOUNDARIES. The 11 track (32 minutes long) album hit the DSP's stores on the 2nd of August 2023.
Check out the review breakdown.

A blend of contemporary R&B, chill/cloud trap, emo-trap and a extremely tiny hint of Jersey club (on TRACK 4: STAGNANT).
THE SOUND

The album opens with an indie/emo-esque guitar which is followed by a toned down/calm vocal by Daniel La Toure. Daniel sings in a exhausted, nonchalant tone about his adversities, relationship mishaps and constantly responding to questions about his accent (his place of origin as well). It is clear the singer puts us in his shoes as he's " going through the most", simply venting as he tries to figure out what's the next for him. With love and loss as the core theme, we begin the journey with a summary of his loses on TORN.
THE INTRODUCTION
TRACK 1 : TORN

WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES
KP Tha Pro has layed down a sound (along with Daniel) that gives off an extremely chilled setting that gets you immersed in their realm of self-reflection, intimate ups and downs, depression and energy protection. Distractions act as Daniel's coping mechanism, on track 2: BURY this is evident. Emotional and distant, two words that best describe Daniel's lyrics. The common themes through out the project are new relationships & dejected intimacy, a one foot in - one foot out trend in situationships, this can be experienced through tracks like CRUZ, STAGNANT, PAUSE, DARK EYES (interlude), SECRETS, STRANGERS on an ISLAND).

THE IMAGERY & MOOD
SACRIFICES takes us back to the loses podium, back to the mood of TORN but more specific to the repercussions of a failed love.
"You don't know what it cost me, just to think about your memories"
On the album's finale, Daniel is joined by rapper Tasha Hendrixx, who really matches his feeling of regret, through her well scripted reflection of her intimate disappointment. In the end the project outlined notion is clear, that you cannot experiemce the joys without the pain, even within your own boundaries.

THE OUTRO
- Daniel La Toure
"Should've never said I love you first, I was my best till you left me at my worse"
- Tasha Hendrixx
Daniel's extremely calm tone combined with the cloud-trap core element can somewhat sound redundant as you get through the album. The features honestly introduce a change in tone and energy, which really adds a great dynamic to the project.
