Spunky Galaxy shares NEW EP, Emotions EP.

Lebohang Mashigo, better known as Spunky Galaxy is rapper/singer/producer from Alexandra. Influenced by his upbringing and inspired by the likes of Childish Gambino, Kanye West, Ryan Trey and Drake. Some of his career highlights include, Getting featured in Hype magazines Collector's Edition, headlining Maboneng Music Festival and garnering over a 100k streams on SoundCloud. Indeed an artist who is here to make his musical presence known.

On the 15th of September , Spunky dropped a 4 track EP titled Emotions EP, which is a young glimpse at his sonic bag of tricks. We got to chat to him a bit about his latest offering.

1. What inspired the EP?

Emotions by me wanting to understand my feeling towards certain that happen around me and how I act towards them.

2. Who was on production?

Majority of the production on the project is done by myself and Khenji. I’d usually create a melody and lace something play it for Khenji and tell him to make the drums drip, to give the beat a distinct Character.

3. Three words that best describe the project?

I’d have to say “Modern Day Art”' because I’m the Modern Day Picasso.

4. Describe your writing process?

I usually write after I’ve laced 2 or 3 freestyle on the beat. I use the hottest freestyle as my guideline then I speak my thought through words that connect with the flow and melodies of the freestyle I like most.

5. Favourite track off your EP, and why?

It’s honestly hard to pick, but I’d have to say Mymindmyvibe, what I do on that song is effortlessly unmatched.

6. Do you believe short tracklisted projects are the new wave for upcoming artists, if so, why do you think so?

Yeah I think so, cause it’s not easy to listen to Alot of songs with the concentration spand we have, you can see this cause over the years tracklists have only gotten shorter and shorter.
