Q&A w/Jermaine Will on NEW project,
Beverly's Hills EP.
Boksburg based singer, Jermaine Will has gifted us with a late 2023 project drop titled Beverly's Hills EP (released on the 1st of December 2023). Jermaine Will's lead single Beverly amassed over 20000 plays on Apple Music, gaining more traction in the USA and Japan. The EP follows the second single's music video drop The Pain (The Movie), which premiered on YouTube on the 24th of November.
We got to have a young Q&A with Jermaine on his latest offering, here's how it end down.
1. Tell us more about the title of the project??
The title is a play on the famous American city, Beverly Hills. The hills I'm referring to are metaphorical, a depiction of Beverly's curves . "Beverly" is also a place where I've found happiness, an escape and that's what the cover art was based on.
2. Three words that best describe your project?
Relaxing, honest, soulful.
3. What was it like working on the project?
It was fun and therapeutic for me. The lead single "Beverly" sparked the rest of the EP and its just one of those "in the moment" works that came to be. Everything just fell into place and I'm happy it's out there for everyone to experience it.
4. How would describe the sound of the project?
My sound is a blend of what I like and my fusion includes R&B, neo-soul, rock-steady and some dance elements. On this project I wanted it to sound relaxing and bright as I wanted it to give off a summer season sensation ... that's the sound.
5. Was the short length of the EP intentional?
Yes, because after the rebrand I wanted to reintroduce myself sonically and a short EP was the right option.
6. Your favourite track off the EP?. and why?
You Remind Me of Summer , it was a product of pure inspiration from everything that made me fall in love with music again.
7. What message would you like people to take from the EP?
To live in the moment and love unapologetically, but whatever people interpret from it is fine with me as long as they enjoyed it .
