With the main theme of vices, The Pain  reveals that Jermaine  yearns for a mental distraction in the form of intimacy,  as he is overwhelmed with the pressures of life and past traumas. The outro of harmonies and vocal cries feels liberating, as if Jermaine  has reached a high, one that has numbed his lingering pain.
